DBSK Fancafe’s Prosecution Application Demanding Compensation

On last August 14th, DBSK fancafe submitted a prosecution application to Korea Consumer Protection Board with subject ‘The postpone of SMTOWN LIVE ‘09′.

The fancafe explained their background of accusation, “They acted unilaterally in postponing the concert, without consideration and fooling all the consumers who had already bought the concert tickets. Thus, we submitted this application.”

In the statement which DBSK fancafe submitted to Korea Consumer Protection Board, they mentioned, “SMTOWN LIVE ‘09 which is scheduled to be held on August 16th is indefinitely postponed.

The postpone was announced a week ago (August 7th) with the reason that DBSK’s case status will make the whole SM family couldn’t unite in the concert.

However, on August 14th when SM released SMTOWN Summer album ‘09, they promoted the song by stressing it as ‘a song which shows friendship among the young men‘ which shows a whole contradictory.”

DBSK fancafe demanded not only full refund of their tickets, but also 10% admission fee as compensation and official apology from SM Entertainment.

[SHOW] DBSK on FUSE TV ...finally an American show!

I am verrry excited to see DBSK FINALLY being covered on an American music show "Fuse Excellent Adventure". Yes, you heard it right, FUSE TV uncovers the DBSK craze/fandom on Asia Song Festival concert (which invited artists from Korea, Japan, China) and gets to personally interview the boys as well.

Check out the preview below:

The show airs Tues. at 11:30 pm and re-airs at 2:30 am the same night. I am hearing that there are reruns to this show. If you have the FUSE channel, you should check out their website for timings. Slowly, its seems all the international fans are getting their wish to see DBSK on their own TVs lol

Nate, the show's host, made a long entry about his visit and experience on FUSE website:

Asia Song Festival - Seoul, Korea
Posted on December 1, 2008 at 07:15 PM

Ok, so does anyone remember the "boy band" days? Nsync, Backstreet Boys, New Kids On The Block, or any other group with three or more members, singing and busting out choreographed dance moves? Well, in the United States, the "boy band" era, for the most part, has faded away. But in Korea--it is as strong as ever! I couldn’t BELIEVE how HYSTERICAL people were for Korean Pop (a.k.a "K-Pop"). I spent a whole day surrounded by thousands of screaming teenage girls. I loved how excited they were to see their favorite K-Pop singers, but I think I lost most of my hearing by the end of the day. Lol. Just kiddin.

The thing that surprised me the most about some of the "adoring", "sweet", and "innocent" teenage girls was the things they SAID they would do to their pop star if they could get the chance! Lol. I was thinking "Girl! You are like, 15! How do YOU know what THAT is--or how to do that -- where the HECK is your mother!" Lol. I guess I underestimated the Korean youth.

While at the festival, I learned about all kinds of FAMOUS K-Pop bands like: Girls Generations, Shinee and a whole bunch more! But, the ONE band that I heard about every single second of the day was TVXQ, also known as: DONG BANG SHIN KI. They have a fan club of more than 800 thousand in Korea ALONE --that's not including the rest of the world!

When I told some K-Pop fans that I hung-out with TVXQ, I was immediately rushed and touched as though 'I' were them! I guess I didn't realize how FAMOUS they were at the time. Lol.

Well, if you're looking for a festival you can go to for great dancing, great singing, and lots of excitement...then I HIGHLY recommend the ASIA SONG FESTIVAL!

p.s. When I returned to the United States, I came across tons of blogs asking about a particular picture with TVXQ and myself (click on link for picture).

People were asking why TVXQ was looking so mad or confused. It was neither. During the time of this picture, I was talking to my producer regarding my position in reference to the camera. Since TVXQ didn't speak English, they were just waiting for the translator (not in frame) to tell them what we were talking about. :-)

I had a GREAT time hanging out with them. They are all COOL dudes! We were laughing and joking around with each other almost the whole time. I hope I answered some of the questions that were asked. If I missed any... hit me up on my blog, and we'll talk!

Nate

[You can leave a comment on Nate's blog and thank him for covering TVXQ xD They are also looking for new suggestions for other festivals to cover .... hmmm, Kohaku anyone? ^^]

DBSK/Tohoshinki invited to Kohaku: Japan's Most-Watched Music Concert

In many interviews, the boys had mentioned that it was their dream to be invited to Kohaku, the biggest annual Japanese end-of-the-year music show, boardcasted on New Year's Eve by NKH on radio and TV. Lots of big entertainers are invited to this concert and split into teams. In the end, viewers can vote for the team they believe should win. Sounds pretty exicting!

According to Wikipedia:
Literally "Red and White Song Battle," the program divides the most popular music artists of the year into competing teams of red and white. The "red" team made up of all female artists , while the "white" team is all male. The honor of performing on Kōhaku is strictly by invitation, so only the most successful J-Pop artists and enka singers can perform. In addition to the actual music performances, the costumes, hair-styles, makeup, dancing, and lighting are also important. Even today, a performance on Kōhaku is said to be a big highlight in a singer's career because of the show's large reach.

Finally, it was revealed today that DBSK will be attending!
CONGRATULATIONS BOYS!

[NEWS] TVXQ Attracts 390,000 Fans During Asia Tour

elunia
dbsg"SM Entertainment says five-member group TVXQ attracted some 390,000 audience members during their 16-month tour around Asia.

TVXQ's Asian tour began in February, 2007, after it swept the 2006 year-end awards ceremony in 2006. Over the 16-month period, the group performed in six Asian cities including Seoul, Taipei, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and Beijing, attracting a total of 390,000 audience members along the way.

TVXQ was the subject of much talk throughout the concert period. One website crashed after 300,000 fans rushed onto the site to reserve tickets, TVXQ set the record for being the number one foreign artist to attract the largest number of audience members two years in a row, and 125 stores at a Thai department store were forced to close down temporarily after 15,000 fans and reporters flocked to the venue of the press conference.

In October last year, one of the scheduled concerts in Taiwan was canceled due to a typhoon, and the group members returned to Taiwan earlier this year in May to keep their promise to their fans.

TVXQ plans to release a brand new album in Korea in the Fall."

Dream Concert - Boycott?

Sorry to have been away for such a long time. I've just read about the boycott of SNSD by the Cassiopeians and ELFs at the recent Dream Concert. I'm a little shocked at it. I know I don't have a right to criticise their actions but I can't say I approve of them either. As much as I'm so NOT a fan of SNSD, I believe that fandom should be a free and open thing where everyone is entitled to their opinions. Its like a freedom to idolise and fans should respect other fans even if they don't agree.

http://shenyuepop.com/2008/06/09/behind-the-scene-at-the-2008-dream-concert/

Well anyway, I hope there wouldn't be a repeat of this incident because the actions of the fans will reflect on their idols. We certainly wouldn't want DBSK to remembered or judged by what their fans did. PEACE! Hehe..

[NEWS]TVXQ Concert in Beijing & Upcoming Schedule

TVXQ / DBSK's 2ND ASIA TOUR ~O~ CONCERT IN BEIJING
SpiderLiliez LiveJournal
By: SpiderLiliez

After the success of their first major Asian concert in China (“O” Concert), TVXQ is again scheduled to perform a second time in the Mainland. Soon they will be heading to Beijing for their slated June 12 schedule, which is reportedly the last leg of their 2nd Asian Tour ~O~ Concert (the Hong Kong leg seemed canceled ~ but needs verification).

On the Internet, online ticket traders label the concert as “TVXQ Beijing Concert 2008,” while some call it “Beijing Oriental Concert.” Supposedly it was said that Shanghai was their grand finale for the Asian Tour, but after some recent schedule adjustments, it was revealed that they are indeed performing in Beijing after all.

The concert will start at 8pm (others say it’s 7:30pm) which will be held at the newly completed Fengtai Sports Center Softball Field. It has a seating capacity of 13,000, and a floor-space of 15,570 square meters. The same stadium / field will also be used for Olympic Softball competitions in the future.

The concert is said to be a two-and-a-half hour show, where TVXQ will perform 25 of their hit songs. They will also do solo performances, just like in their “Seoul Encore Concert” last October 2007, in Korea.

Organizers of the event guarantee that everything will come as planned. For assurance, they will be preparing one (1) week before the concert. Reportedly they have and will spend a lot of money for this grand concert, which will give TVXQ fans a fantasy-like ambiance during the event.

According to DreamMaker (a South Korean production company) they will be using the same materials and equipments used at the “Encore Concert” in Seoul, with everything including lightning, audio, multimedia, costumes, and stage design. Seemingly, they’ll be transporting everything from South Korea directly to Beijing. Roughly, the concert will cost around 10 Million Yuan, equivalent to around 1.5 Million US Dollars.

And to the delight of the fans, according to a person in charge of the event, fans will be able to see TVXQ up close, because the seats will just be around 10 meters away from the stage. Though we have heard of fans complaining about the seating plan, that it was actually farther away from the stage than mentioned.

[News] TVXQ Holds Concert in Taipei

From MY PAPER 11/5/08:

TVXQ Holds Concert in Taipei
3000 Fans Hold Roses for Proposal

TVXQ's Taiwan concert in October 2007 was disrupted due to a typhoon and yesterday night they fulfilled their promise of holding another concert to make up for the disruption. Fans prepared fans, red balloons, red glowsticks and red roses. Some 8000 fans made up a "sea of red" in the Taipei Arena.

TVXQ which has just completed 17 shows during the 3rd Live Tour expressed that they still recall the concert last year where fans continued to brave the winds and rains to see their performance, and stated that they "were really very amazing", thus they wanted to keep their promise of holding another concert.

When they sang "Midhuyo", fans chanted "Waiting for you" to TVXQ and subsequently shouted out each member's names, at the end they even prepared 3000 red roses to mass-"propose" to TVXQ.

The fans even considered the fact that Junsu is allergic to pollen and wrapped every single red rose. Their passion has touched TVXQ.

From MY PAPER 13/5/08:

After successfully completing their Taiwan Concert last Saturday, TVXQ went to dine at a Korean restaurant. The entire group of people comprised dancers and staff, and the 100-odd team packed the Korean restautant which was booked by them. They enjoyed Korean-style meat, rice puddings, seafood and steamfood and spent close to NT$100,000 (or SGD 4456).

On the way to the restaurant, TVXQ was being pursued by clsoe to 100 fans who reached the restaurant earlier to welcome them, and there was a slight tussle with the security guards at a particular moment.

TVXQ was shocked by the fans' shouts and screams of passion. After the hard work at the concert, they ate voraciously and even rose up to thank all the staff member.

They left Taiwan two days before and the guards initially requested them to walk through the private walkway, but they insisted on walking by the public way. Close to 400 fans lined up in two rows and once they saw TVXQ, they shouted things like "Don't go!" and "Please come to Taiwan again!", sending thier idols off.

DBSK concert-sudden price increase for tickets

‘A few days ago the price tickets for the Shanghai concert suddenly went up catching the fans off guard. The organisation explained that because changes had to be made for the stage, production costs increased resulting in the price change for the tickets. However, the fans don’t understand why the most important – stage design – would change now, just as tickets are about to go on sale.

Fans claim that it appears prices are getting cut, but in reality, they’re ‘stealing’ money.

On the 31st of May, DBSK will be holding their concert in Shanghai. Because of the number of fans, demand for tickets exceeded earlier expectations. Some fans were afraid they could not get desired seats so, in groups, they ordered their tickets and remitted money in hopes of getting seats close to the stage.

Tickets are supposed to be on sale on the 2nd of April. Fans were highly anticipating this day but then an accident occurred. The organisation announced on the 26th of March the price changes which would occur.

[assuming these are in RMB Yuan]

From 1880 -> 1580 { I think this is the most}
1280 -> 980 { ” ” }

180 -> 280 {’proper’ seats ie not close to stage}
380 -> 480
480 -> 680
580 -> 980 [so now these seats are the same price as the ones close to the stage]’

DBSK to Sing at Hollywood Bowl 2008

Dear friends,

It is my great pleasure to release another set of artists who are going to perform at the upcoming Bowl concert on May 17. They are,

Choi Baek Ho
Jung Hoon Hee
Dong Bang Shin Gi (TVXQ)

TVXQ is one of the hottest idol groups in Korea and gratefully accepted our invitation to perform at the Bowl. They are returning to the United States in 4 years after their debut appearance at the Bowl in 2004. Hope you give them a warm, friendly welcome back.

Choi and Jung are another fine additions for older generation. They were extremely popular in the 70's and 80's. It will be their first appearance to the bowl, and surely will make our lineup more mature and balanced.

We will release the final list on Tuesday, April 1. I think that will be our final announcement. Thank you.

Best,
C.S. Hah
