[ACTS] Cassiopeians donate to the Fruit of Love charity

On behalf of Xiah Junsu's birthday on the 1st, his fans had decided to donate 9 million won (approx. $6,700) to a Korean Charity called "Fruit of Love." This donation was made under Junsu's name and has been made for the past few years. The fans stated that "rather than a present, we thought that it would be bigger and more meaningful to donate to a charity under Xiah Junsu's name."

Another group of fans, from the fan site DNBN, had also collected and donated 5 million won (approx. $3,700) to the charity for DBSK's 5th year anniversary.

Ah, those lovable Cassiopeians. You kids need to learn from these unnies (and oppas, I guess).

Source: AllKpop

From sharingyoochun@wordpress:

Recently, instead of spending all of their fanclub’s money to buy bling bling for the boys, Cassiopeia spare some of it for the needs.

On last December 14th, at Kwangwoon University’s Auditorium where Junsu’s fanclub members celebrated Xiah Junsu’s birthday titled XIAHDAY, 2000 fans gathered, instead of making a simple single party, they had a fund-raising event.

In this event, the fans sold a lot of cute stuffs such as wallet, cellphone ring, mouse pad, earrings, and other XIAH goods which successfully proceed 4.000.000 won (US$ 4000) that has been donated through Fruit of Love in the name of Xiah Junsu.

The donation certificate then was forwarded to Junsu as a birthday gift from them.

Junsu got his birthday present, and now the whole 5 also got their precious present to commemorate their 5 year debut anniversary.

At the 5th anniversary concert, shockingly some fans came not only to meet the boys, but also held a fund raising event right on the spot and successfully gained $500.

Not only from the on-the-spot fund raising, these Cassie, who held their event by the name “DNBN 2nd DONATION LOVETIC” also had had on line fund raising from December 9th to December 26th.

[SHOW] Dreams Come True: DBSK's Surprise Appearance at Japanese High School

OMG. I totally DIED with laughter, joy, and surprise watching this. This is like EVERY FAN'S DREAM COME TRUE! 3 lucky high schools got to realize this dream. [From TBS's show Sanma Tamaos Lets Help Your Dream Come True - Special.]

You must, I repeat YOU MUST watch this! It is currently one of the most-watched videos in Japan and Korea (under different links) You won't even need subs {English subs are out!}...the reactions alone are must-sees! I will try to put the download up for this in a couple of hours.

I highly recommend seeing the videos in Large HD quality here:

Part 2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=DIpxTgIvZmI&fmt=18

[Spoiler: This a SPECIAL episode, similar to the Korean "School Attack"/"School of Rock" show, however this program usually doesn't do this sort of thing. They did this surprise because the girls once revealed to TBS on camera that they wished to see the "cool" guys of Tohoshinki who are "awesome dancers" and dance with them. Well, they got their wish and some! Very touching episode and even more exciting and personal than School Attack.

If you didn't get the gist of what happened at the end of part 1, the girls are asked to learn the dance steps of Purple Line in a few hours and then perform in front of the ENTIRE school (on national television too!) with DBSK.]

Xiah Junsu’s fans donate in his name for birthday

Very similar to how TVXQ Yunho's (U-Know) fans donated to charity in his name, Xiah Junsu's fans have collected 8,000,000 won, to donate to children with hearing disabilities under Xiah's name for his birthday.

Xiah's fan cafe (Xiah Seoul) stated:
As music lovers, we felt the right thing to do was help children who couldn't hear, regain their ability to hear. This will not be a one-time deal, we have plans to continue to help children hear again.
Source: AllKpop

Xiahmaru cafe donated around 2.15 million won to charity as well. They also provided gifts and food for the old folks without families. And they are donating around 110,000 won to World Vision every month. Of course, everything goes under Junsu’s name.

[SHOW] DBSK on FUSE TV ...finally an American show!

I am verrry excited to see DBSK FINALLY being covered on an American music show "Fuse Excellent Adventure". Yes, you heard it right, FUSE TV uncovers the DBSK craze/fandom on Asia Song Festival concert (which invited artists from Korea, Japan, China) and gets to personally interview the boys as well.

Check out the preview below:

The show airs Tues. at 11:30 pm and re-airs at 2:30 am the same night. I am hearing that there are reruns to this show. If you have the FUSE channel, you should check out their website for timings. Slowly, its seems all the international fans are getting their wish to see DBSK on their own TVs lol

Nate, the show's host, made a long entry about his visit and experience on FUSE website:

Asia Song Festival - Seoul, Korea
Posted on December 1, 2008 at 07:15 PM

Ok, so does anyone remember the "boy band" days? Nsync, Backstreet Boys, New Kids On The Block, or any other group with three or more members, singing and busting out choreographed dance moves? Well, in the United States, the "boy band" era, for the most part, has faded away. But in Korea--it is as strong as ever! I couldn’t BELIEVE how HYSTERICAL people were for Korean Pop (a.k.a "K-Pop"). I spent a whole day surrounded by thousands of screaming teenage girls. I loved how excited they were to see their favorite K-Pop singers, but I think I lost most of my hearing by the end of the day. Lol. Just kiddin.

The thing that surprised me the most about some of the "adoring", "sweet", and "innocent" teenage girls was the things they SAID they would do to their pop star if they could get the chance! Lol. I was thinking "Girl! You are like, 15! How do YOU know what THAT is--or how to do that -- where the HECK is your mother!" Lol. I guess I underestimated the Korean youth.

While at the festival, I learned about all kinds of FAMOUS K-Pop bands like: Girls Generations, Shinee and a whole bunch more! But, the ONE band that I heard about every single second of the day was TVXQ, also known as: DONG BANG SHIN KI. They have a fan club of more than 800 thousand in Korea ALONE --that's not including the rest of the world!

When I told some K-Pop fans that I hung-out with TVXQ, I was immediately rushed and touched as though 'I' were them! I guess I didn't realize how FAMOUS they were at the time. Lol.

Well, if you're looking for a festival you can go to for great dancing, great singing, and lots of excitement...then I HIGHLY recommend the ASIA SONG FESTIVAL!

p.s. When I returned to the United States, I came across tons of blogs asking about a particular picture with TVXQ and myself (click on link for picture).

People were asking why TVXQ was looking so mad or confused. It was neither. During the time of this picture, I was talking to my producer regarding my position in reference to the camera. Since TVXQ didn't speak English, they were just waiting for the translator (not in frame) to tell them what we were talking about. :-)

I had a GREAT time hanging out with them. They are all COOL dudes! We were laughing and joking around with each other almost the whole time. I hope I answered some of the questions that were asked. If I missed any... hit me up on my blog, and we'll talk!

Nate

[You can leave a comment on Nate's blog and thank him for covering TVXQ xD They are also looking for new suggestions for other festivals to cover .... hmmm, Kohaku anyone? ^^]

"We Love You - 1 Year 7 Months" - DBSK's & Cassiopeia's heart wrenching relationship

One of the most touching videos I have ever seen...
These are the voices of thousands Korean fans "Cassiopeia" who wish to see DBSK be proud and feel loved in Korea, always...

HQ: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=GSlKOZl0-Dk&fmt=18

Credits: eternalmerkamoon4 + kroongho@LJ for translating the original video posted by the Korean fans.

[ENG SUB] DBSK Wins Album of the Year - Yunho's Speech

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's heart wrenching relationship...
While the Korean fans feel insecure when they see hundreds of dedicated foreign fans growing around the world, feeling that one day DBSK will leave them forever...
DBSK feels insecure and deeply worries of losing Cassiopeia...
Changmin let tears flow for the first time in public at MKMF, from the immense burden he felt of doing well again in Korea after 1 year and 7 months, of pleasing their fans that they love, of the relief he felt when they at least earned Album of the Year...
Because they know that Korea is where they started, it is what they represent, and without their original fans, they feel they will cease to exist...
We love you oppas.
All of us will continue to support you. In Korea, Japan and where ever else you go...
The foreign fans wouldn't be nearly as close to you if it wasn't for the dedication of the original Cassiopeia -- who spread their love through hundreds of pictures, videos, news...it is infectious. They showed us how to show our love to you. I can proudly say that it is in this fandom alone have I have ever seen so many fan projects, gift giving, and efforts being made to coordinate together as foreign fans... to form our own red sea. Why? As foreign fans, we are always trying to match vast Cassiopeia's love for DBSK. Without the original Cassiopeia, where would the fandom be? Nowhere as close...since the Korean fans bring us most of the fancams, news, and generate interest so that DBSK can keep coming on new shows (and produce the highest viewer ratings for those shows as well). To keep producing great music (and dance) that impress upon and touch the lives of many people.
DBSK + Cassiopeia = <3
[FEATURED] 10/10/08 Brazilian news article about DBSK! Latin countries FTW
You can now add Brazil on the growing list of Latin American countries showing strange interest for DBSK in their media, after Peru, Spain, Chile, Mexico!
Check it out:
DBSK vende 350 mil cópias de seu quarto álbum em apenas um dia
Fenômeno coreano arrasta legião de fãs por onde quer que vá, inclusive no Brasil
Na Coréia, no Japão e em Taiwan eles já são sucesso. A banda coreana Dong Bang Shin Ki, apelidada pelos fãs de DBSK, já é tanto sucesso que vendeu somente no primeiro dia 350 mil cópias do seu quarto álbum lançado no dia 26 de setembro.
A boy band formada por Xiah, Micky, Hero, Max e U-Know é famosa por suas coreografias combinadas com um figurino perfeito. De acordo com o site da revista CAPRICHO, os meninos fazem lembrar de Backstreet Boys e N´Sync.
As músicas dos caras são todas em coreano e japonês, mas em alguns sites de vídeo é possível encontrar as canções com legendas em português.“Teríamos que treinar muito para cantar em inglês. Somos péssimos”, revelam.
Thanks to Maryz@soompi for the tip!
And thanks to all those Brazilian fans for commenting on their website article to show your fandom.
Judging by the lingo I read, it basically says similar stuff from the previous Spanish news sources (about how they are similar to Backstreet Boys and Justin Timberlake lol) but hey, I am totally not complaining!
World Domination: Mexican magazine features DBSK (after previous coverage from Peru, Chile & Spain)
Yet ANOTHER special feature article on the great phenomenon & sensation called DBSK / Tohoshinki / TVXQ, by another completely far off and non-Asian country that one would never have thought would consider covering Kpop/Jpop.
A weekly Mexican entertainment magazine recently had a large page dedicated to the group, mentioning their immense popularity around the world in countries like Korea, Japan and Taiwan. They even went as far as to suggest that DBSK is ready to conquer Mexico!
Might we suggest ... that DBSK totally take up some Spanish classes and consider a debut in the Latin/South American countries, more so than the US itself seeing how much greater media interest is being shown there. These media outlets are literally calling out to them to come over. Ofcourse, this is all thanks to the hundreds of fans who made their fandom known.
Translation:
For some reason, these boys from South Korea have cause commotion in many places around the world with their pop music and their peculiar style. They sing in their mother tongue, just one or two (N: “una u otra” in this is like some few songs…) or some chorus in English or Japanese, but even with that they are a sensation. The acronym that shapes their name means “Rising gods of the East”. The five young men were choose carefully between hundreds of thousands of people, five years ago, for one big Asian label. All of them are child prodigies in music, and all of them have an interesting life; One of them grew up on EEUU, another lived in extreme poverty. This boys and their fashion look (big hairstyles and dying) are protagonist in hundreds of commercials and advertisements in the Asian continent, they have conquered Japan, China and even Thailand, and are one of the few bands that have been able to bring together more than forty thousand people in one Korean concert. Now with their 4 disk and after training as actors on TV, their next aim is to conquer our country.
[FEATURED] DBSK on international TV in Chile (South America)!
DBSK featured on Chile's "En Serie" program + release of MIROTIC:
credit: DdO blog + tvxqparasiempre@YT + fangirlmitz
Translation & Summary by mistika@soompi + corrections from anonymous:
"Now, let's talk about the second band. They are Korean and everyone keeps on asking for them (their songs). And I wanna tell you about them again, they are TVXQ, also known in Japan as Tohoshinki and Dong Bang Shin Ki. They have different names, but here we're gonna call them TVXQ.
Now we're gonna show you their new material, and this is super cool because it's really new, it was released just a few days ago and this is Mirotic. xD Here is TVXQ on the stage. [Shows video clip]
That was TVXQ with this video named Mirotic, the album has the same name and it's gonna be launched in two different versions, one that is the normal one, we could say standard, and then, there's gonna be one that's gonna have a DVD and a photobook. And like you saw in the video, TVXQ came up with a new look because they have a new stylist. They are gonna present a look that is actually more modern and aside from that, they are really good-looking because they all are deportists, dancers, gymnast; so this is their style. "
...Then the guy says, "they're Korean, they're Korean" (seems like he doesn't believe Chileans are drooling over Korean boys lol). The girl then confirms it. The guy asks if the album is also gonna come out in Chile or if can you buy it online... (SM they're asking for CD's in Chile!!!)
The girl says TVXQ is focused now on the Korean market, so it'd be difficult to find it somewhere else, but that people can go to Providencia [edit] which according to our reader is "Santiago's (Chile's capital) biggest part of the city where you can find the latest things regarding music, clothes" etc. They also name Eurocentro which [edit] according to our reader is a huge mall where you can also find lots of stores of different kinds, specially when it comes to foreign merchandise. Then she goes on saying that the video of Mirotic is already on the show's website and that everyone should check it out.
- EDIT -
Video ENGLISH SUBBED:
I totally hyperventilated when I saw this. I have never seen any other Asian singer/artists being covered like THIS on music shows in countries that are not Asian! Totally astounding how AWESOME Chile fans have represented themselves and their poweress!
This is not the first time DBSK has been featured in a show/national news from a country in the South Americas (special mention goes to the Peru fans!)...now I am just wondering how many fans there are over there D: I am totally happy and jealous of you guys ^^ GO international fans!
DBSK Inspires Charitable Donations; Fans donate 20 million won
Recent fancams of DBSK members with a blind piano prodigy melted hearts all over the world, while the comeback stage made fangirls scream their heads off. Now, leader Yunho’s fans give him a truly special gift.
After their first promotional performance on the 28th, Yunho’s fans gave him a receipt of a donation made in his name to a children’s foundation, in the amount of 20,000,000 won ($17,000 US).
Yunho was very touched by this gesture, and said this was the best present he could have hoped for, especially since he refused the fans’ extravagant birthday presents to him, and asked them to give the presents to those who need them more. It seems the fans really listened.
Some may say the boys are boring goody two-shoes, but I say DBSK is exactly what idols should be: inspiring and talented role models.
Now this is what I call fandom. The people at withyoonho collected and made such a huge difference to the lives of so many kids in just 4 weeks! Way to go.
They are the rising Gods of the East
Dong bang Shin Ki...
As know as TVXQ or DBSK, and in Japan as TOHOSHINKI.. 4 names for a group form by 5 koreans.
No one is more than 21 years old and since 4 years ago they're kinda the asian BSB.
They began singing acapella in a christmas tv show in 2003 in which sang Britney Spears as well.. Such success even though they hadn't a disc avaliable and even so they got to have 2 songs in the top charts.
Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan, surrender under their feet.. They Sing, dance, make dramas and of course they start trends..
They are starting to talk about them in Spain, and in places like Peru the fanclubs are growing up in number
Watch out with Dong Bang Shin Ki...the almond shaped eyes pop is starting to come out from karaoke.
Translation:
"Five boys at world's attaintment. They come from South Korea. They drive crazy thousands of girls and they take inspiration from Justin Timberlake. The group's name is TVXQ, four letters that stand for "The rising Gods of the East", as the leader explains. Their concerts are always "sold-out", on-stage they resemble the pre-eminently boyband Backstreet Boys. And like them, they want to be famous worldwide. And they're succeeding at it, in Italy they already have a fanclub. They have been singing together for 3 years, top-charters in their Country, they are famous even in Japan, where girls wouldn't miss a concert for any reason. The Korean super-group now is touring throughout Asia and for sure we'll hear about them."
Translation credit: kiraghira
LOL I am not sure where she got the part about them taking inspiration from Justin Timberlake, but pretty good nonetheless, won't you agree :D
[FEATURED] DBSK on German MTV - Guinness Record for Biggest Fanclub
A German MTV show about fanclubs did an episode to reveal which artist/band has the biggest one, and hence DBSK popped into the topic. Sadly, hoever, they did not cover them at all. They were brushed aside is more like it.
Translation of they said about DBSK:
"According to the Guinness book a korean boygroup named Dong Bang Shin Ki has the biggest fanclub but since nobody knows them here, we continue.. (with the program..)"
thanks to Elina88xxx
Its too bad they didn't cover them, although I understand that not as many Germans would know about an Asian band. I did hear though that many German DBSK fans wrote in to complain about the offense, because the commentator mentioned them in a very ignorant and offensive tone.
According to SweetLionors , the literal translation is :
"...but because no pig/swine knows them (dbsk) here, we can just go on..."
-in german it's a really depreciative way of talking, just like an insult
