Firefox 5 Beta Download

Update: Firefox 6.0 Beta Build 3 released. Scroll below to Download

The browser wars are heating up and Firefox intends to catch up with chrome version numbers by following much shorter release cycles now. If everything goes as planned by Mozilla, we may well see Firefox 7 releasing by the year end.

Currently the Mozilla Firefox 6.0 b3 and 7.0 alpha 2 is available for download. Mozilla currently labels the test versions as Aurora releases with a new logo and the Mozilla-central versions as Nightlies, also with a new logo.

The transitions appear to be mainly testing the new rapid release cycle procedure and there isn't much to see for Firefox users yet.

Here you can download the new versions here for both windows and mac OS:

You can also download a cool new firefox wallpaper for your desktops here:

Internet Explorer 10

Although IE 9 is still in its nascent stages of release with just a month to pass, Microsoft now took the covers of it next version of its popular web browser, Internet Explorer 10, while releasing the Platform Preview 1 just like it did through IE 9 release process. It won't work like your regular browser but you can go through the development processes and the improvements happening in the new browser. Microsoft is increasingly under pressure from rival browsers Chrome and Firefox, who are churning out new features at regular intervals in the competitive browser market.

IE 10 is expected to be shipped with the up-coming Windows 8 OS but as reports are coming out it perhaps will not be available for Windows Vista users just like it happened earlier with IE9 which does not work on Windows XP. You can have a taste of the new browser here just for some viewing pleasure.

Mozilla Firefox 4 Update Download

Firing the Web: After months of wait and countless betas and 2 release candidates, Firefox 4 is finally here, the most popular browser on the web by Mozilla. With a complete new look and claims by Mozilla of delivering a fast, sleek and customizable browsing experience along with improved security features, surely the user cannot have a better choice. With IE 9 turning on the heat last week for the first time, its time for Mozilla's reply.

In its looks Firefox has gone the chrome way with the tabs positioned completely on top. The address bar has also undergone a minor change which adapts to your frequent browsing behaviour, adjusting its searches based on what users select. Several performance boosts has also been given like support for hardware graphics acceleration, the new JagerMonkey JavaScript engine, and other performance enhancements for faster start up and faster page loading.

Firefox 4 includes support for a number of new technologies like WebGL 3D graphics for vivid gaming and visualization experience and improved support for new fonts and CSS3. It also supports the WebM format so you can watch HD quality video in your browser. Firefox integrates multi-touch support for Windows 7.

But one feature still missing in the firefox is the ability to pause and reschedule downloads when firefox crashes or if the PC shut down abruptly.

Beauty of the Web: Well as per Microsoft their next iteration of its most popular browser Internet Explorer 9 has been termed as Beauty of the Web. And yes going by most reviews and number of downloads, it perhaps may be another game changer for Microsoft, just like Windows 7 scored over Windows Vista.

Microsoft released their Ready to Web (RTW) version and already the browser has seen more than 36 million downloads. And yes through the complete series of events right from the platform previews to the beta to the release candidate and now the release to web version, we have seen a completely new side of Microsoft, where it is interacting more with its users and taking their feedback to reclaim its lost aura back from Firefox and more recently Chrome.

Right from the User Interface to performance, privacy, security and integrity with the OS, IE 9 has have a complete overhaul and for once you will feel Internet Explorer being fast like the other browsers. Although Windows XP users will be disappointed for not being able to install it, Windows 7 users surely would be going to love it with its new website pinning feature to the taskbar where you can pin sites which you frequently visit and get updates without even opening the full browser window.

Other notable improvements include:

* Clean, lightweight, streamlined and compact user interface.

* Download Manager with ability to pause and restart a download.

* Tab page listing the frequently visited pages.

* Search option through the address bar with search suggestions just like firefox and chrome.

* GPU hardware acceleration to speed up video streaming or online gaming.

* Tracking Protection with some websites to help keep information private.
