He has sowed the seeds for transforming the country into a developed nation. Dr. Kalam will be remembered for his humility, dignity, and scholarship. His act of leaving the magnificent Rashtrapati Bhavan with two small suitcases is worthy of emulation. He has reminded people of the importance of simplicity, honesty, and transparency.
His scholarliness, earnestness to motivate everyone to strive for nation-building coupled with his cordiality, or informal nature of setting aside all protocol to make a forceful point is difficult to tell. It will perhaps be long before we have another President with such a fine blend of mind and heart. Behind Dr. Kalam’s simple and unassuming persona was a unique personality endowed with great intellect, knowledge, values, and integrity. His ideas and words of wisdom inspire all of us to work for a better tomorrow.
Some times people are honoured by elevation to certain posts and the Post gets honoured by occupation of some personalities. Our outgoing President APJ Abdul Kalam clearly comes under the second category. The highest post in our country, the post of President was certainly a fittest place for him.
A man of outstanding caliber whether in the field of science and technology or education or literature he was a celebrity with distinction and his contribution to our country in raising the standards in these fields is laudable. It is for the vision of people like him India stands erect and high and makes us proud in the international field. All these five years we had his wonderful views and his clear vision of India's future.
He is an outstanding man of love, affection, care passion and patriotism The biggest contribution made to this nation by Dr. Kalam was to become a role model to the youth and those in educational institutions, who in times to come will takeover the mantle from us or join us.
Youth especially students, for the first time had seen a role model in Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who would inspire them by his simple talk and initiating a vision about India and their role in achieving it, even if one percent of those inspired by his speeches takes up the defined vision goal seriously, things are going to make a big difference in times to come. He essentially made the defeatist mentality of our youth to change and encouraged them to dream and dream big!
Look at the sky. We are not alone. The whole universe is friendly to us and conspires only to give the best to those who dream and work.
