Go To Eleuthera Man

I had an interesting day yesterday. My buddy Dave works for a billionaire and consequently has access to the One & Only Ocean Club.

Most people will recognize the name One & Only Ocean Club as the place where the James Bond movie Casino Royale was filmed. Dave asked me if I wanted to play tennis. I quickly accepted.

Dave has spent most of his life surfing or kite boarding out of North Carolina. He is tanned and fit and ten years younger than me. He cleaned my clock at tennis, but nonetheless I had a great time.

Dave is also involved in the rental of beautiful seaside cottage in Eleuthera, one of the out islands of the Bahamas. Last night I put up a website to publicize Dave's cottage rental.

It is a basic listing, but in the coming days and weeks, Dave (and I) will enhance the information there. But for now, you can always email him from the website. And if he asks to play tennis, always say yes, but be prepared to run a lot.

Angry Seas

How is the weird cold weather affecting the sea and beach in the tropics. I snapped these pics yesterday of the angry sea. There are breakers and whitecaps offshore, and the surf is more powerful than usual. The winds are high, and the cloud cover moves in an out.

In the above photo, the surf pounds a small cay called Salt Cay near Atlantis. You can see the plume of seawater in the upper right of the picture as it smashes against the rocks.

Relief is coming in a few days, but it has been rather chilly in the tropics, and I have yet to swim since I have been back.
