Internet Died Yesterday -- Again

In a previous blog posting, I confirmed what was being said all over the internet -- that among all of the days of the week, Monday was the busiest day on the Internet. Generally it is true, but now for the second time that I have been keeping this blog, the internet died yesterday.

Below is a graph of my usage charge. It is fairly consistent on the hits that I get, except that you can see, yesterday was way down day. I do not know why. Today, it is already picking up back to normal levels, but for one day, everybody collectively got away from the keyboards. Strange.

And for something completely different, I am going through my digital picture archives. I collect images and content of all kinds. When I got a scanner a few years ago, I would scan anything and everything.

One of the things that I scanned was this home sewing kit that consisted of a book of sewing needles. It has the date printed inside, and this is from 1959. The scene of domesticity on the front cover is a little disconcerting. For some reason, it reminds me of the Stepford Wives.
The other thought that struck me, was that it has false advertising on it. The 51-year old book of needles, say that their product is rust proof.

When you open the book, you can see that in the intervening 51 years, the needles that remain have rusted.

Rusted as well, is the image of the "Leave It To Beaver" scene on the front cover.

However, one image from that era that still invokes a warm and fuzzy feeling is shown below:
