A Beautiful Mind

Beauty as they say is in the eye of the beholder and is skin deep. To be fair trying to define beauty in a few words will not be appropriate just like the thing itself. So, where does true beauty lie? Can it be found in the tired eyes of a mother who was up with her sick child? It's there.

In simple terms beauty is something that takes your breath away, or makes you just stop in your tracks, maybe even for a second, so you can feel it and appreciate it. This is real beauty. It's even more beautiful when you see the real thing.

Beauty can be a sight, a sound, even an aroma, that simply takes your attention for however brief a moment, but in that moment, you feel nothing but the appreciation of the object of beauty. Beauty to some can be in the eyes of his beloved when he first wakes in the morning, seeing her eyes light up when she smiles or laugh.

Beauty can be at the very sight of a sunrise through a snow peaked mountain on a clear morning sky or, a morning glory flower by the road side or a innocently smiling face of a carefree child or the child’s heart beat seen in the glint of an eye the quirk in the hint of a smile or the passion on display when someone completely forgets himself and move mentally into a dream world of his own. It can be at the sight of your role model at the way they stand with confidence or in the way he plays his game.

All sorts of things can be beautiful from sunsets, mountains, deserts, people to animals. To some, nothing is more beautiful than music. The way a single chord played can make you feel excited and make you lost in the rhythms. Beauty doesn't have anything to do with looks. Beauty is natural and comes from within. When you are good on the inside and have a wonderful personality that reflects on the outside too, people will start looking at you in a different way.

Stylists or makeup artists can make you look beautiful to as much you already are and not any more than what comes from within you. Fake beauty starts peeling of like the cement from the walls. It’s only you who can water your within to keep yourself healthy, glowing and beautiful. Beauty is in the way you talk, you behave and you present yourself to others. Beauty comes from the light in the eyes, a natural smile on the face, and the glow of good health that shines through the skin.

Physical beauty fades with time but the beauty that comes from within lasts forever. You can be physically attractive and have the most aesthetically appealing face, but if you are rude or selfish, your inner charm is lost. A nice and caring person may be more beautiful even if he/she is not physically beautiful. If a result is not only simple, but is unexpected, then that can also be beautiful, as well. And the converse may be true as well. When things are unexpected, but happen easily, things can be beautiful also.

Beauty is what really defines us as human. It can define our place in the cosmos, or in history, or even in time. There is a sense in almost all of us that clearly defines what is beautiful, but then there is beauty that surprises us if we let it. A small creation either by way of a painting, photography, or writing can get back you a little piece of that beauty.

You can’t describe beauty, but you know it when you see it.
