In India these days everyone is writing a book, it seems. Thanks to the plethora of the new book releases everyday, the street book seller seems to be happy and so are the publishers. And the guru of it all is the famous writer codenamed CB, whom everybody loves to hate and hates to love, still he should be considered as the God of writing a new generation Campus literature, which are available more near the campus shops rather than the established book shops.
CB was the first to sensationalize the campus Life, Love and all the Loser's category of literature and it was gobbled like hot-cakes by a seemingly new generation of heart-burnt and boss-kicked readers, who perhaps found some solace in his books.
After that as it would happen suddenly a new generation of writers were born and started throwing titles like pebbles in the river with almost all of them being some campus love affairs. Some were destined to break and some forced by the writer to match the next chapter which was already pre-determined. And on the day of the release of the book itself, the cover of these books would show a extra sticker of being a national bestseller. Interestingly they would be priced at throwaway prices so that the average college-goer can pick it up with his pocket money itself.
As the book is released, the author start offering ideas and counselling sessions for free on how to become a published and best-selling author and how to deal with publishers for publishing your idea. The best part of these books are their marketing which would be available in almost every street corner where even Tagore or Naipaul doesn't find a place.

In all this the IIT's and IIM's got some undue free publicity inspite of their falling standards as the backdrop of almost all these books will be these two institutions as was envisaged by the original God. Perhaps the other chicken counter self proclaimed management guru should take notice that even in this category his institution is not ahead and instead of the tall newspaper ads for his institution , it would be better to create a dozen of these writers, which will give better publicity.

The best part of this new generation of writers who are more of bloggers than the former are they all loved to take a bashing at CB, what they consider is some crap and in-illegible literature forgetting their own and these days are even offering sequels to make the publisher happy. Indian English literature finally is in the mercy of the hands of the so called bloggers who has one story to tell and sell.
