Anandabazar Patrika and the Bengali community in Calcutta, Bengal or even outside are quite synonymous. About 1000 copies of the newspaper were sold on the very first day of publication. Among the newspapers of the eastern region, Anandabazar Patrika has played a pioneer role to introduce offset printing.
Among the newspapers of India, the Anandabazar Patrika was recognized to top in circulation, according to the report of the Press Commission in 1954. Then the daily newspaper was published from Calcutta only. This newspaper is now published from many other locations other than Kolkata.From the point of view of circulation, among the Bengali newspapers, Anandabazar Patrika has crossed 1.2 million.
Other than the Kolkata edition, Anandabazar Patrika has introduced editions for other metropolitans like Mumbai and Delhi. Within West Bengal, the circulation of the paper is divided into 6 regions.
