I feel rushed this morning. Last night I put the final touches on my keynote speech to the Technology Conference tomorrow at the Sheraton. I still have to cut some CDs so that the press will have a verbatim text of my speech as well as my Powerpoint slides. I have to catch a haircut. I have to put the finishing touches on my seminar on advance Web 2.0 design techniques. I have to deliver some of the booty from a shopping trip in Canada to some friends here on Paradise Island. In short, I feel rushed. The second cup of coffee this morning will go down quick and my day will be packed.
The good thing is that I swam the half mile of Cabbage Beach yesterday that I usually swim. The water was coolish, and it felt great to be in the ocean again. I got into an easy rhythm and the distance shrank quickly as I stroked in line just past the breaking surf.
While I was swimming to the steps, I saw the saddest thing. A wedding was taking place on the beach. An incredibly beautiful bride, dressed in a white dress, was marrying an older man. They were all alone. The bride's mother was there, and the minister who performed the wedding was also the photographer. There was no one else except me swimming by in the water. Sad.
